Volunteer Leads act as the primary point of contact at each service site and are responsible for ensuring that volunteers have a clear understanding of their tasks and expectations, completion of work at the site, and more. Prior to the event, they coordinate with the Project Planning Team to gather important site details such as volunteer assignments, project goals, and community partner needs. Returning Team Leads are preferred, but not required for this position.

Tools & Supplies Leads ensure that all sites are properly equipped, and that volunteers are using tools safely and effectively. This is divided into two coordinated teams: Shed Team and the On-Site Team.

The Shed Team is responsible for managing inventory at the Tool Shed, organizing and preparing supplies in advance, and transporting tools to and from service sites. They ensure that all materials are accounted for and returned at the end of the day. Meanwhile, the On-Site Team works directly with volunteers at the service sites, providing guidance on proper tool usage and safety protocols. They coordinate closely with the Shed Team to request additional supplies or signal when tools are ready for pickup. Together, both teams ensure a seamless flow of resources throughout the day.

Eco Leads support The Project's sustainability initiatives by helping service sites maintain organized, safe, and environmentally responsible waste management practices throughout the event. Eco Leads serve as the primary on-site point of contact for waste diversion and sustainability-related operations.​

Throughout the day, Eco Leads monitor waste, recycling, and compost stations to reduce contamination, and ensure materials are disposed of properly. They assist with managing overflow, maintaining clean and accessible disposal areas, and staging full bags or materials for end-of-day pickup and disposal.

Media Team Leads are responsible for documenting The Project. Sunup to sundown on event day, they are capturing event prep, volunteer work, cleanup, and everything in between. They will work in small groups and move from site to site throughout the day, taking pictures, interviewing volunteers and community partners, and matching the before and after photos that tell the story of Project day.

Bus and Transportation Team Leads will be the main line of communication between registration and the site leaders. They will ride the buses that transport volunteers, helping drivers hit the right bus stops, navigate, provide information, lunches, and thank-you gifts for the bus drivers.

Team HQ is responsible for all the events and details happening at our central site and command center. This team is responsible for starting every volunteer's day off with excitement and ensuring that all volunteers, VIPs, and community member guests feel welcome and well-informed. This team is responsible for: Volunteer Kick-off, VIP/Guest relations, Volunteer Check-In, and General Information and Parking.
