COMMUNITY PARTNER STEERING COMMITTEE

The Project is, at its core, a partnership between The University of Texas and the local communities of Austin. Each neighborhood that becomes a Project partner has its own unique history, centers of activity, and goals. Because we strive to meet the existing priorities of residents, a steering committee is formed for each cycle of The Project. The steering committee is made up of residents, city and corporate partners, and Project planning committee members. Meeting regularly from September - March, the group creates connections and sets projects across the neighborhood to be completed on Project day.

ABOUT US >

The Project is UT Austin’s largest day of student service. This university-wide event helps thousands of students, faculty, and staff each year connect with a different Austin neighborhood. It is organized and run by the Community Engagement Collective (CEC) and annually marks the culmination of a year-long partnership between the CEC and the selected neighborhood’s community leaders.
