Hello Volunteers,

We would like to thank you for being part of this great Longhorn tradition and volunteering with us during UT’s Largest Day of Student Service. Project 2024 is here! Below you'll find the schedule for the day as well as some last-minute reminders. Lunch will not be provided (snacks and water will), so plan accordingly and either eat before you come or bring a snack! Shuttle buses will be available for those who would like them. We highly encourage carpooling or riding the shuttles, since parking is limited and we want to respect the residents of Dove Springs.

•   We will work RAIN OR SHINE!  Please dress accordingly for the weather, but you MUST wear your volunteer t-shirt as your top layer! You will receive this at check-in.

•   Make sure you’re well hydrated and well rested - you’ll work hard, and it’s a very long day!

•   Wear sunscreen - even if it’s cold in the morning, it can be hot and sunny during the day.

If you have any questions or need details about your shift, event staff at check-in can assist you.

For 25 years, The Project has happened each spring, usually around the last Saturday of February. Starting in 2024, we're moving to the fall! The jam-packed nature of the spring semester means that there's always an overlapping event that affects the ability groups who would otherwise want to participate in The Project. While there's too much going on at UT Austin to ever find a weekend where nothing else is happening, we're looking toward our next 25 years thinking strategically about what will set up The Project with the best chance to include as many volunteers as possible, make the biggest impact, and create sustainable connections to neighborhoods across Austin.

For fall 2024, we continue our partnership with Dove Springs. On November 2nd, 1000 Longhorns will gather and work at six elementary schools, completing projects that will help the schools meet their educational goals for their students and better support their teachers. Priority Volunteer Registration opens on September 15th, and General Volunteer Registration opens on October 1st! See you there!
